DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM
The bed of the TR70 universal turning lathe underwent wear and tear as a result of its utilization, which made its further functioning impossible. There was applied the technology of a renovation entailing a polishing of the bed and a placement of distance plates on the support.

DESCRIPTION OF THE REPAIR
The surface to be repaired was initially cleaned and sanded. Four tools were made to precisely set and center the support towards the turning lathe's spindle. They were fastened at the ends of the support and exactly leveled and placed on axles towards the spindle. The surface was degreased with Chester Cleaner twice. After the application of the regeneration material Chester Metal Slide up to the height of the tool plus the plates, the support was located on the bed's separator lubricated earlier. Thanks to the tools there was achieved an exact representation of the plate towards the bed. The support was dismantled; the excess and flashes were polished off after 48 hours.

ACHIEVED EFFECTS
That repair allowed us considerably shorten the time necessary for the renovation and avoid a costly and time-consuming machining g of the support with a planer. Thus it resulted in a reduction of the cost of the machine tool renovation.
