Thermal and Power Plant DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM Rotors of German pumps of the Siret type were the subject matter of the security works. Due to a long-lasting utilization, the rotors had to be replaced. The old type of the pumps made a purchase of new rotors impossible. The rotors required a security with a material resistant to abrasion, cavitation, and high temperatures (up to 100°C). This is why; it was decided to secure them with the Chester Molecular technology. DESCRIPTION OF THE REPAIR The rotors were sanded (photo1), and then degreased with Chester Cleaner Degreaser. After the degreaser's evaporation, there were made two layers of Chester Metal Ceramic FSL (thickness of ca. 0.5 mm). After Chester Metal Ceramic FSL was hardened (48 hours) (photo 2), the rotors were balanced to control their functioning after the security works. ACHIEVED EFFECTS The security of rotors with the Chester Molecular Company's technology allowed the renovation team of the Thermal and Power Plant use the cheap alloy steel to make new rotors. The plant would have been forced to buy a new pump without the technology of Chester Molecular. Chester Metal Ceramic FSL material ensures a guarantee of a long-lasting utilization thanks to its parameters. |
